Hello Fenix 5/5S/5X Plus users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

14.73 Change Log Notes:

  • Added support for Explore Navigation Sync, where one can select lines, waypoints or generic points on the map within the Explore app and start navigating on device.
  • Improved the Garmin Pay experience on device.
  • Fixed an issue where steps would intermittently stop accumulating after a multisport activity.
  • Made general bug fixes and code improvements.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

    Just installed this update and tried to navigate to a saved location using the navigate app... the watch rebooted as I pressed the start button. After reboot it worked as expected.

    Training status and load sync from/to other devices is not fixed in this beta.

    Very bad Garmin, I have opened a case in last December (DEC2020!)  for the Training status and load sync from/to other devices matter still no progress!!.

    for your reference., the case ID is 18270806K1.

    Other owners of Fenix 5 plus please re escalate the bug to the support team , otherwise the support will continue to ignore our requests.

    As always, thanks for the continued development effort.

    It's a bit of a shame that the not-extremely-important but annoying 'course scrolling bug' is still here. Scrolling saved waypoints just works, why not courses.

    When disconnecting from PC or charger, the charging screen showing battery percentage, stays on for a long time and then the main watch face appears. There used to be a boot 'splash' screen before. Where did that go?

    AFAIK everything else works perfectly. Disclaimer: the device is used offline.

    This really is shocking. Yesterday I returned my 6X to Garmin for warranty replacement, so I've started using my 5X+ once again. Everything fully synced. Physio True - up enabled on both. Nothing from the 6X appears on the 5X+ in terms of 7 day training load and status. 

    I don't know why these stats are device dependant. It's *MY* training data, not my device's training data. Garmin data architecture is completely flawed if they believe this data belongs to a device instead of a person. 

     

    No doubt when I receive my replacement 6X there will be another gap in training data continuity. That's certainly how it was 15 months ago when I switched from 5X+ to my then new 6X.

    I shouldn't have to pick a device to see MY training status and load. Strava manages to integrate data from multiple devices, even multiple brands, and still come up with one set of numbers for ME.

    In beta 14.73 there remains the bug that training status and load is not trued up in any way, shape or form with other devices on the same account.

    It is especially pertinent for me because I have just had to swap devices and will need to do so again in a few days. 

    I've switched from peaking on one device to unproductive on another. That is stupid. I'm the same person and my training status should be independent of the device I use to record activities.

    Furthermore, although I am now starting to build a 7 day load history on the 5X+ I don't actually have any values for training load or load focus.

    When will there be updates to include body battery and other software based metrics and features? If there is no plan to, I’d be good to know so buyers can take this into consideration. Thanks
