Fenix 5 Plus Series - 14.71 Public Beta

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

14.71 Change Log Notes:

Improved the accuracy and reliability of altitude data.
Fixed an issue where one couldn’t edit Wifi networks, if the device had not paired and synced with a Garmin connect account.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

Nothing about training status is not sync from Edge 1030

Is there any update about draining battery, I 've been told by support that there is a pending issue about it

FYI the course scrolling bug is still in there.

Did support give details? I'm seeing weird fluctuations in battery usage; from 96% to 41% in 8 hours with no activities, next day from 94% to 92% in 10 hours (no activities). A new battery is already on its way - but if it is a known issue, I may not need to replace it.

Nothing exept that I'm not the only one and they are working on this issue , that should be solved beginning of january 2021

For the first time ever I had the battery drain issue on my Fenix 5 Plus the other day. Went from 80% to 10% warning during the day at some point. The only thing different lately is that I am using the HRM Run strap (since 1st Jan). I use stock watch face and have no apps installed. It has only done it once so far.

today i did my first run with the new Firmware 14.71. Elevation and GPS was completly wrong. Battery drain is ok. PLease fisx elevation and GPS, the watch is useless with this Firmware. Elevation got worser with Firmware 14.00 but with 14.71 its absolutely useless.

I hate to have to chime in here, since 14.71, 3 out of 4 activities had incorrect distance data and partially missing GPS data. Can still be coincidence, and missing a bit of GPS data can always happen, but I'm a bit tired of the incorrect distance thing. Going back to 12.00 and ANT/BLE 6.06, GPS still 2.70. As far as I remember things were better before 12.71, hope I have the same firmware set as back then (real pity that the Gawisp site has gone). I won't be reporting this, I deleted the faulty activity files already, hoping others will be so kind to inform the beta team. BTW neat that 12.00 doesn't have the course scrolling bug.

Hi Twinaxx, do you know where I can download old firmware like 12.00 in order to downgrade my watch.

Version 15.00 - full of bugs... Version 16.00 - full of bugs... Version 17.00 - full of bugs... please make this watch $99 and I will be alright with it... shame on you software engineers!
