I just bought the garmin fenix 5 plus and tested it out and went on a trail run. Whene i came home i saw that the total elevation was 0m i went in to details and saw that the graph of elevation was well drawn and even had the highest and lowest elevation totaly accurete(420m and 1950m) is there a setting that i have accadantly turned off or is my watch broken?

  • No idea what you might have accidentally done. Have you checked the manual for the settings you might need?

  • If you want support, you should give more information. Where do you see 0, on the watch or in Garmin Connect? Do the widgets for barometer and altimeter work? Did you use the regular Trail Running App or did you install a 3rd party app? etc.

Apart from the manual, you can find additional information here:

  • Garmin Connect can correct the profile with map data, this is mostly for watches without barometer, because GPS based height measurements are not very precise.

If the barometer doesn't show data, the watch is probably defective and you should send it back.
