GPS errors every time I pause during race and wrong starting point

It started like 2-3months ago:

Every time when I start running GPS jumps like couple hundred of meters (even after it locks on and I wait for some time) but more important issue is, when I click STOP to pause activity on the street light etc. it up then track. It moves me back or to the front by couple hundred of meters and it's just for 1-2sec, then it resets. It happens every time I pause.

What's wrong with it?

  • This looks really strange. Of course running in a town is a huge challenge for GPS-devices. But between the strange jumps your track looks good and especially at the river the view to the satellites should by quite good. Any electromagnetic signals can disturb the reception, but this would not only affect the track quality when stopping. As the different settings would not cause huge differences, this is also unlikely the reason (Glonass, Galileo, every second etc.).
So unfortunately I have no idea and I never saw something like that on any of my Garmin watches in 10 years.

Does this also happen, when you run outside of the city? Does it always happen at the same places? Do you use any 3rd party app for tracking or the included Running app?
Does this happen at every run at different places? Then the device might be defective and you should contact Garmin service.

  • It's not about the city. It was working fine for more than a year. It *** up around 2months ago. Doesnt matter if its in the city, outskirts, track, moutains or field. Running every day, sometimes twice a day - always the same issue when I STOP during activity. Place doesnt matter. Not using any kind of 3rd party apps, nothing :) Was fine, then wasn't :D

  • O.k. then I hope you still have warranty!
