Fenix 5 Plus and Garmin HRM-Pro

Hi All,

I have connected successfully the above mentioned HRM-Pro to my 5 Plus.

Now whatever screen I pull up on the watch, it keeps showing the heart rate from the watch sensor, not from the HRM-Pro

What am I missing here?

many thanks for your assistance

Are you wearing the HRM and have you started an activity when you check, and double-checked that the sensor is enabled and Connected in the Settings/Sensors & Accessories list?

To be clear: you are wearing the HRM, started an activity (which one?), and then you see that the lights from the optical HRM on the back of the watch are still active. That is strange. I have never seen the optical HRM still active while I have another HRM connected.

I guess you can try these things: reset the HRM (remove battery, insert battery upside-down for a second, then and re-insert it the proper way), or remove the HRM-Pro sensor and add it again, or reboot the watch, and if all else fails use an Android phone with ANT+ Plugin Sampler on it, which allows to view all ANT+ sensors that are in reach, and view the data transmitted. Do make sure it is connected as an ANT+ sensor in that case (HRM Pro is dual ANT+ and BLE I believe).

  • Is the HRM-Pro in range of the watch at the time? The HRM-Pro will collect the data when not in range for download afterwards. If you are wearing the watch and the strap is not in range then the WHR will likely be giving you heart rate.

If the strap is in range of the watch, heart rate data will come from the strap.

  • ad 1 : Yes, optical arm is active while the arm-pro is connected

ad 2 : have done the first part, will try to see if I can find anyone with an android phone

    thanks !

  • they are constantly in range

    thanks

  • Do you have Garmin Pay active?
