Music controls

So today i tried running with Bluetooth earbuds and I must say this was a huge disappointment. The widget music control does absolutely  nothing in controlling music. In order to change volume my complete run got lost, my heart rate got up because of sheer frustration of how difficult it is to change somthing as simple as the volume.. I don't understand why there is not a simple music app where all buttons have a basic task volume up/ down  play/pause and next  where you do not have to go through all this hassle of selecting a function . Maybe there are third party apps that do this?

  • With some Bluetooth earphones/speakers the volume control will not work..... Its best to try out first before you buy....

Or do you mean you didn't know how to control the widget at the time?...or found it fiddly?...

There are some very popular music apps in the IQ store for you to try.....

    All the best...

  • This watch is a real sports watch, that's why it does not have a touchscreen and you have to do all with the buttons. This is definitely less convenient but it works while running in the rain with gloves.

If you are not able to use the buttons properly, you should buy an Apple watch and avoid wet and cold weather!

  • The widget only shows what music is playing but there are simply no controls. You can get out of the exercise/run and into the app but that's just silly designed for when you are running.

  • Duh.. I like the buttons, it just would be nice if you can adjust the volume with them or play/pause without breaking your neck while running..

  • You can add it(music) also as a datafield in an activity... that might be easier to get to ... If you have compatible headphones, all the control's should be there and usable..try pairing it with with something else and see what controls you have then.

  • That's what I did setup it's called music control (called it widget but it's data screen) so I was expecting just that but it does nothing more then show what's playing unfortunately. Shortcut with hold down to the music app is the only way but then you still have to press allot of buttons to change anything. I have some old headphones with there own volume control that work but they don't like to get wet. Thanks anyway Sam might have a look at other in ear headsets with more control options that work. I have seen some more complains about this on the Fenix 6 forum so I don't think Garmin is changing anything soon.
