5x vs 5 plus battery life? Any word on actual performance?

I have a 5x and recently bought a 5 Plus

the batttery on the 5 plus does when the 5x is still on 44%.

I run them both at the same time, do everything on one that I do on the other. This is my third match back down to zero. I’ve heard these batteries calibrate so I’m gonna keep winding down and charging up, and will continue to track the charge.

is this expected, if it is, I’ll probably keep it anyway because of the music, which is why I upgraded.

but if the battery is bad, I’m able to exchange it for another so I want to do that if I can.

I assume this requires you to have the widget constantly open while charging?

I have more or less given up on battery monitoring widgets because they only log data when they are open. And I would assume that the alarm function in this widget has the same dependency.

I tend to have this widget open while charging (because I find it easier to check the charge level at a glance in the widget than scrutinize a tiny battery indicator on a watch face) so I can't say for certain. Next time I charge my fēnix 5 Plus I'll try and remember to check if the charge level alert works when on the watch face.
