How to set a run to Auto Lap 0.62(km) or in 0.01 miles increments while running in metric?

How do I set a run Auto Lap 0.62(km) or in 0.01 miles increments while running in metric/miles per minute? Only see 0.05 increments on my fenix 5.

I think you are to do this on other models of garmin, but couldn’t see the option how to do this.

like to run in mile per minute but sometimes lap my intervals etc in kms reps.

thanks

  • Lap+ Or another custom data field. Only this way. But dont expect lap data be saved in fit file

  • I may be confused, but 1km is 0.62 miles. I don't understand why you want 0.62km as a lap distance, as that is not really a thing. Did you mean 0.62 miles?

If so, set try this, which works on my 6X....

Set the watch to use metric distance. In your activity set auto lap distance to 1km. Now switch distance units for the watch to miles. The auto lap should have converted to 0.62 miles instead of 1km.

Here is my 6X auto lap set to 0.62 miles following the steps above.

If this is not possible on the 5+ then I'm afraid I don't have a solution.

  • Thanks that has done the trick. Yes you are right, should read 0.62 miles or a km. Changed the watch units, set the aut lap to 1km and switched back and now at 0.62 miles. Perfect. Just thought they might have left the auto lap increments at 0.01miles but it work so no bother.

    Thanks very much ;)

There are separate settings for pace/speed and distance, so you don't even have to change the distance unit back to miles if you want to use kilometers for distance and miles for pace.
