Garmin Fenix 5s plus maps not showing on watch

I have just got a Garmin Fenix 5s plus and the map does not seem to be working? On the map screen it’s just grey with an arrow showing where I am, when zooming in there is no detail at all? I have done a GPS soak but still no map detail is shown. Also when you go to configure maps there is no page after? Can anyone help?

Hello,

I'm suffering the same issue in my fenix 5x plus.

I see the screen empty, no maps only position and north icon.

I dont know what to do. Damn.

I also noticed it can take a while before the map is shown, how long did you wait?

Now I know that when it takes longer I just have to wait, sometimes much longer than I think is acceptable, but I always got the map.

How much time?

In my watch it pass 10 minutes and nothing in the screen.

I have had it since Thursday. Been out for a 8 mile walk and still no map? Very frustrating!

Make sure that the maps are activated in the activity you want to use. If you have only the maps delivered with the watch, there is no need to deactivate anything.

The maps are shown very quickly, if you are in the same region. If you are in a different region it takes longer the first time.

Thanks however When I press configure maps no options come up and it returns to the configure map button?

Did you delete the maps from your Fenix?

A general thing which sometimes helps is to switch the watch off, wait at least 20s and turn it on again.

Thanks, As far as I am aware I didn’t delete the maps, when I got it out the box it asked me to update which I did via Garmin express.
Am waiting for a reply from Garmin themselves to see what’s wrong!

The Maps should be present in the Garmin Folder on your watch - you will find Information About that in this Forum!

It might be worth also trying to reinstall the maps again from Express....
