Dear everybody, Fenix 5 plus updated and ows with gps+glonasd enabled and 1 sec recording. I would like to know if this GPS track show on the Garmin connect is normal or not. It's around 200 meters longer than I really did.

Overall it’s pretty good. This lake is surrounded by mountains, so it’s possibly losing the satellite after some time and I don’t know how to get it to lock onto another one. The only solution once it starts just counting yards by the second is to stop the activity .
i had this same problem with the fenix 3hr, and got no help from garmin regarding it.
I’ve got the gps set for ultra track for next time, and will apply the 1sec data before getting into the water next time.
i feel like my only other option is to attach it to my buoy or select pool swim.

That's likely to lead to an even worse track as in that mode GPS connections are even more infrequent. Selecting pool swim won't work as you need to turn at regular intervals in a pool to accumulate distance something you are unlikely to do in the open water. Attaching it or putting it in something you tow will/should give you a good track. However, that is not going to solve the problem.
Contact Garmin Support. They have been very good at working to improve the swimming of the 5+ and other watches.
I have a fenix 5x and have yet to get it to record anything sensible for a swim, and have given up and gone back to 920 for swim recording - my fenix 5 can't stay even close to a swim track for more than 200 yards after that it just leaps randomly about the area and records massively excess distance - the swim option should just be taken off this watch - it;s so bad its not even funny. I bought my fenix 5 to replace 3 faulty warranty replaced 935's where the temperature/pressure sensor never lasted beyond 4 months, but at least that gave a swim track that vaguely resembled where I had been. The suggestions that you should have to tow a triathlon watch in a float or wear it on your head are frankly a joke. Garmin need to be more upfront about the issues with these watches, we're spending a fortune on watches that just don't do what the box says it does.
