Garmin 5x Plus does not pair and screen extremely slow

I recently started getting an issue with my watch that it keeps on disconnecting the bluetooth and then does not update the app.

I performed a reset (Both Options) and since then cannot get the watch to pair to my Apple Phone and added to this the watch display on all screens is extremely slow to change over, it is almost asif the cpu is overloaded or the memory is too little to load the operating software

Bottom line

1. Screen is extremely slow

2. Unable to Pair watch to IPhone

  • Without additional information I can only provide general points:

    Remove all 3rd party apps

Check/empty memory from music or additional maps

Do a factory reset (not clear what "both options" means)

    Contact Garmin service

I have done as requested before i raised this question.

By both i am referring to the 2 options available in the Setting-Reset option on the watch

  • 1. Screen is extremely slow

    2. Unable to Pair watch to IPhone

    1. Might need Garmin Support on this issue, as mentioned by .

    2. Check this post. Fairly extensive checklist of troubleshooting steps. Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide. If still no joy, see step 1.Wink

  • Having same situation here… did you resolve he issue?
    thx

  • My Fenix 5X Plus was also struggling to breathe after the last software update. More specifically, when trying to find places to navigate to, or when navigating, my device was crashing. Maps were taking forever to load, and everything was just much slower. I had a bunch of maps installed as well as several custom watchfaces, but I still had over 1gb of free memory left, so I initially figured it must be something else. I reset the device to its factory condition, made sure that all of the maps and custom watchfaces that I had installed were gone, and set it up again with only the stock maps and just a few custom watchfaces and widgets. That made a huge difference, and the device is as fast now as it was right out of the box. My theory, and it's just a theory, is that the last software update occupied more system resources than my device had with all of the extra stuff that I had installed.

  • Hi, well I think there’s something else with my device, which is currently rebooting since 8 hours after having performed a master reset…

it seems my 5x plus is broken…
