Audio Prompts not working through headphones when playing music through phone

I have a Garmin Fenix 5 Plus on Software version 11 and when I go running I have my Iphone 11 with me and play Spotify music through my Beats powerbeats pro bluetooth headphones. I do not receive any audio prompts from Garmin for laps or HR etc when listening to music or anything through my phone.

But when I connect to spotify through my watch and play direct I get the audio prompts perfectly. Is there a setting I need to change on my phone or watch to allow the audio prompts to play when listening to music etc through my phone?

Unless I don't understand, Why would you be able to hear audio prompts from your Watch when you are not connected to it?

I think I found a solution!

I think when my Garmin has updated the system, the set up for sound has changed.

If you go to Garmin connect app in your phone and select your device (top right of app). Then go to Audio prompts and activate on-device alerts. Mine was off. When I turned it on, now everything seems to work fine.

Because you're connected to a phone that's in turn connected to bluetooth headphones that render audio. It's a basic need.
