Yet another example of bad implementation of Garmin software features.
The -0:17 might mean that you are 17s slower(!) than your record for this segment. Ultra counter intuitive, as everyone in sports would show this with a positive number.
Ask Garmin. Create workload for them. Maybe one day they'll understand that low quality software doesn't pay off.
If you do a track competition and your coach shouts "-5", you are behind the plan ‐ this is common in athletics, so here Garmin is not wrong.
Ah, ok thanks... I have never done that. I just know from competitions, if your time is -10s, than you are 10s earlier than your reference (usually the first). Also in the final ranking you have the first and then +10.37, +11.08, etc... but ok, the "behind the plan" also makes sense. Just that it would be maybe important to know, I switched off these live segments, because I found the information confusing, and not helpful. While actually live segments was one of the must have features for me, when I bought the watch.
Where in the manual we can find what this information is supposed to mean?
