Is there a way to have one activity app link to one set of gear (say my bicycle) and another activity app associate to another piece of equipment (say an ebike)?

When I bike I sometimes use my own personal bike and sometimes I use my city bike share. I like using my watch to track the time I ride to make sure I turn in my bike before the timer ends. I'm not a huge fan of having to manually change the bike after each ride.

I've actually set up a separate "biking app" on my watch that strips out most of the data screens and leaves me with the timer keeps track of my overall ride time.

You can set a default for the one you use most but that’s as far as it goes.

The Fenix is a sports watch. Are those share bikes really sports gear?

I don't understand. I use my watch to track my rides. I like to keep tabs on the kilometres I ride on my main bike but I don't want the stats to be skewed by the bike share rides

There is not. You need to make the change manually after you've uploaded the activity.

I have three bikes and three activities, one for each. Since I mainly ride my road bike that is my default. If I choose to ride the mountain bike or the single speed I have to change to the appropriate bike upload.
