Wrist based HRM Turns Status off randomly

I rarely restart either and have never had any problems. Maybe you have bad hardware if you think it needs doing every day?

The only time I have ever lost wrist heart rate is for brief periods after using a chest monitor. It seemed to still look for the chest monitor for a while even after the activity had ended.

I just think it's good electronics hygene. You might want to give it a try :)

Maybe a few years ago but devices and software seem a bit more reliable these days. You are correct in the sense that if I had an issue, then the first thing I would do is reboot though ;)

It’s well worth trying a hard reset after you’ve synced any activity data to GC (You won’t loose any settings) press and hold top left until it shuts down (hold through the Alert) then restart. If that doesn’t make any difference connect to Garmin Express, sync and apply any updates.

I’d still contact Garmin Support.

I had the feeling that "every once in a while" could have been too vague. And I have a feeling that most of the problems people complain about in this forum would be fixed if they restarted their watch when it does something unexpected
