I have the HRM Run and a Fenix 5X Plus. The HRM Run in combination with the Garmin app Running Power (https://apps.garmin.com/en-CA/apps/741afa11-0250-48e2-86b5-14bd47e29391) allows you to register power expenditure during your workout. Fenix 5X Plus allows you to detect your lactate threshold in terms of pace and heart rate. I imagine it would not be too difficult to compute a functional threshold power with the data available.
Could this be something that could be added to the software?
Practical value? I use TrainingPeaks which calculates a training stress score (TSS) based on the power-data exported from Garmin Connect. To get the calculations right, and thereby to help me manage my training load, I need to know my functional threshold power.
