Can I track two runs simultaneously?

Can I track two runs simultaneously? I would like to run e.g. 15k. 5k in a moderate pace, 5k fast, and then 5k moderate again. Is it possible to start an activity, then after 5k start a new activity, when i’m increasing my pace (without stopping the first activity), then after 5k stop the second activity and then return to the frist activity? Basicly i would like to know my total time of the 15k as well as the time of my 5k, without having to split the activity in three. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  • If it is just the tim's you are interested in: That is what laps are made for. Use either manual laps and disable Auto Laps if you're on some form of metered/known course or set Auto Lap to 5k.

  • You can do that if you have two devices.

  • Thanks for your replies. I’ve tried using the lap funktion, but I can’t make it work quite the way I would like. I want to start a new lap whenever I feel ready, and not at a prefixed distance. So I don’t think the auto lap will work. If i disable the auto lap and push the lap button while running, I’m not able to stop the lap again without stopping the activity all together. Hitting the lap button again will just start a new lap instead of stopping the previous. But maybe I just expect too much of my device. Sorry if that’s the case :-)

  • You could use a multi sport (brick) activity with 3 runs. You would have one activity with the 15k but in Garmin Connect you could see three 5k. It's not exactly what you're looking for, but i think it gets close.

  • Thank you. I think you are right, that this may be the closest solution to what i’m looking for. I’ll give it a try. Thanks again.
