Unfortunately it seems to be the case that Garmin is supporting loyal customers in a strange way. Giving them support by updating the software with bugfixes and adding some new or adjusted functionallity. Strange thing is however that these new updates are not in line with what a big majority of the customers wishes. So if you, as Garmin, put your time and resources in functionality the customer is not missing than what is the purpose of develloping them? Why don't you select a more agile approach where one selects the next functionallity which is most desired by the productowner?
I do agree with you... they're focusing on adding a lot of new features in devices like the new Forerunner 55, a low- end device, and forgetting their best consumers who spend a lot of money acquiring their best devices... it's incredible...I don't understand Garmin in this aspect.
