Bluetooth connectivity lost since the Connect update yesterday 25/10/19.

After restarting my phone couldn't sync my 5x plus. Saw that connect was updated on 25/10, so tried usuals - restart devices, remove & reinstall connect etc. No luck keep getting failed to connect when trying to add device. The phone is showing it as connected as a bluetooth device

I've had this issue ever since we got the 9.x upgrade. My bluetooth had been connecting just fin until the last two updates where now, after the update I have to resync everything, but then it still loses…

Have you tried to disconnect and then reconnect to the app from the phone itself (>settings>phone>Status? It does work for me sometimes...

Fixed for me, for now, by connecting to WiFi on the Fenix. Same WiFi network phone was on. Then phone remembered the watch and synced over Bluetooth.

Rex you are a star My watch wont connect to my wifi (error code 0500) so I tried turning off wifi on my phone and bingo connect connected

If you're on iOS, this is a known issue, and it's not limited to the Fenix 5+.

Garmin just released an update to Connect, but there's already reports from users saying it didn't fix the issue.

This issue exists for me since over a year now and never got solved.

From my experience, you must accept that Garmin is not able to get this done right (as so many other things) or you better return the watch.

Really? You've not been able to sync your watch for over a year?

If so, I believe you have other issues than the one that was introduced by the GCM update a couple of weeks ago.

Quick update. After I was able to connect with wifi off, it stopped working when I turned wifi back on again. However after restarting my phone it has settled down and all working ok.

...problems with bluetooth connection and app sync.

To get bluetooth connection work at least for a "while" i have to turn off/on bluetooth on the iPhone.

To get the app syncing, i have to quit the app by removing it from the running tasks and start it again.

This procedure was the only workaround no matter what firmware the watch or the iPhone was running on - it just sometimes was worse and sometimes less.
