DataRun Premium 4c0 - anyone hearing the tones?

Hello -

I have the DRP menu set up so that I hear tones as well as feel vibrations if I'm out of a pre-specified power range.

As things stand now, I feel the vibrations when I go out of range, but don't hear the tones.

Would someone (or someones :) ) please list a few places in the watch where I might need to toggle so that I hear the tones? I've gone through and checked the ones that I found, but I think I'm probably missing at least one place in the watch that I have toggled to "Off" instead of "On" that I can't find.

Unless no one else is hearing the tones as well?

Thanks!

Fenix 5S Plus

  • Tones on the F5+ series are not as loud as my previous F3. The vibrations are lesser as well

  • Just uploaded a new datafield with which you can test your watch. It produces all available sounds one after the other every 5 seconds. It need approval from Garmin, but that probably will be later today. It can be found at:

  • Hi - Sorry to be so ignorant, but once I've gotten it into my IQ Apps list, how do I actually set it up to test my tones ... meaning, where do I put it in my watch, and how do I "test"?

Step-by-step instructions would not hurt my feelings! Slight smile

    Thanks!

  • Just start it like one of the native garmin apps. It would be in the list along with say.

    Run

    hike

    trail tun

    bike

    bike indoor

    appname.

  • Hi thanks @Nikeow -

I must be missing a step ... it doesn't appear in my list as you pointed me to, it's not even an option using the "Add" button.

It's definitely in the IQ Apps list though ...

    Garmin Fenix 5S Plus.

  • Haha. Now I know why. It’s a datafield. Just relooked at it. So install it as per a datafield.

  • Hi, thanks for that @Nikeow.

I did load that as a data field, and as I'm still not hearing tones, it must be a watch setting I'm missing Disappointed

  • Hi GHG23

I just got a Fenix 5X Plus and it's great. So far the real downside are the tones - even indoor, I can't hear them, which is very disappointing. So, based on your expertise, is there any way to provide the watch with an audible alarm an hourly time signal, by means of an app, datafield or any workaround?

Many thanks in advance. Take care.

  • Well, try the app that procduces all posible tones for a Garmin watch at https://apps.garmin.com/nl-NL/apps/afb342af-223f-4737-923e-bf01371369cd

I made it so that people can test which sound they hear best

  • Hi GHG23,

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

I'm a newbie in this Garmin universe so, please forgive my ignorance.

I managed to test your datafield and my doubts, now, are: your datafield contains all the available tones on the watch by default, right? Am I able to assign the ones that I want to the situations/applications I want? For instance, may I assign one of those tones to the alarm and hourly alert?

    Many thanks once again.

    Best Regards
