Fenix 5s+ Bluetooth dropping garmin connect / Iphone

So my wife has been having issues of recent with her iphone. The watch will show connected via the bluetooth settings but in the connect app, the watch is obviously not connected. The watch recently updated to 9.0 and the issues still persist. I have removed the connect app and re-installed and reconnected her watch. However, after a period of time, it drops again. Is anyone else having this issue? (FYI This is on an Iphone 8). Thanks!

This is about problems with iPhone. Perhaps have a look in the Android GCM threads in the Apps and Software forums.

I have the same problem (also described in https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-5-plus-series/194229/fenix-5-plus-series-software-version-9-00-at-50-rollout), but with a Samsung S7 (and the watch doesn't state it's connected)

My summary:

After paring up the devices (including the device registering and synchronizing in the app on the phone); the moment the watch disconnects, it isn't able to re-establish the connection from that moment on. Turning the bluetooth off and on again on both devices (or actually rebooting both devices) doesn't work.

The bluetooth connection cannot be re-established. The only thing I can do is to (again) unpair the devices and pair it up (again). Every single time.

I have the exact same issue. Once I finally get them to connect I have to set it up as new again. Very frustrating.

Always good to see someone must have Searched before posting.

However, let me suggest some things to try:

Look at the GCM forums for the iPhone in the Apps and Software thread.
Look through some of the other posts about connection issues on other devices.
Contact Garmin Support yourself and raise your case.

I have just same problem with s9 only just started happening. Was working fine until recently. Tried everything suggested still keeps disconnecting. I read an update might've caused it.

Garmin please help, obviously known issue

Yes! I have a One Plus 9 pro. My watch constantly cycles through asking my phone to enter the number displayed on the watch. It's so frustrating.

I've deleted the app many times and tried the process from the beginning. After a few days or hours, it does it again.
