Fenix 5s+ Bluetooth dropping garmin connect / Iphone

So my wife has been having issues of recent with her iphone. The watch will show connected via the bluetooth settings but in the connect app, the watch is obviously not connected. The watch recently updated to 9.0 and the issues still persist. I have removed the connect app and re-installed and reconnected her watch. However, after a period of time, it drops again. Is anyone else having this issue? (FYI This is on an Iphone 8). Thanks!
