After trying a non-quickfit strap, I lost a small washer off the one pin (you know, the pin the quickfit strap clicks onto)...
Apparently Garmin don't have them as spares, and expect me to send my whole watch in to be repaired!
For this!

Garmin support is hit or miss with the wristband stuff. I run with a lot of people who have Forerunner 235s, which are notorious for breaking the little rubber loop the long part of the band goes through…

I can buy knock-off's from eBay, but apparently Garmin don't stock them as spare parts!
I am absolutely bloody speechless!

I run with a lot of people who have Forerunner 235s, which are notorious for breaking the little rubber loop the long part of the band goes through. Some people got just the little loop sent to them, some got an entirely new band in the mail, some had to send their watch in. It's pretty much CSR roulette!

Bought the above, and there are a variety of washers that fit and keep things in place.
I'm sure there are other sellers and possibly some in the UK who sell a similar product, but I can't vouch for them.
I believe it is the 2.4mm one which fits my fenix 5+
All for a watch pin! Hardly an esoteric spare!
Thanks for that... will look into this - hard to believe a multi million dollar company sell a £750 watch and cant supply washers worth a fraction of a penny
Sorted thanks to an amazing CSR who went the distance!
Phew.
Seems an odd think to get uptight about but
1) even though the pin is probably 99.99% secure, it's still not a cheap watch. I would feel more comfortable knowing it's in place. I've already decided to stick to QF straps
2) I've got an Ultra in a few weeks - I'm in training and can't do without it right now
3) it's not really very cheering to think simple parts like this (watch pin!) require a replacement watch, especially (as I said to the CSR and some people who don't like me right now are probably going - you see our point) ... the Fx+ has had some hardware issues for some. Right now apart from this (self inflicted) issue, mine has been flawless. I don't want to go ten days without in end training and risk getting a refurbished back that may have issues...
4) note to firms. Having a couple of hundred spart parts worth pennies in total isn't always a bad thing! For an expensive watch, those pennies may be the deciding factor in future sales....
Still going to order a pack for future reference though! Thanks very much!

Yeah, I agree. I was a bit amazed when I was originally asked to return the watch. As I said, it's not a fault, and it''s only a washer. I'm going to buy that pack, but I'd prefer to have an option of the original part. I've had the order confirmation so it'll be with me next week.
