Wronge Sleep Data

I move from Huawei Watch 2 to this Fenix 5 Sapphire; the Huawei was more accurate in Sleep data and Step count, this is not acceptable for a Smartwatch that cost 4 time more !

Have you set 'sleep time' in the settings to cover the whole period you expect to sleep at night?

Dear AJR, yes of course, since the first set-up. But when I stay sit-down on the sofa, it calculated that I am sleeping. The Huawei was definitely more accurate, it calculated also when I sleep in the afternoon (we call it "pisolino ") really precisely

  • I gave up using my Fenix 5 plus for sleep data and I had a good go at getting it to work properly.  My Fitbit is considerably better at tracking sleep out of the box.  I don't think sleep is a priority for Gamin more just a feature checkbox.

  • Likewise. I can’t understand how Garmin get this so wrong. The app “Autosleep” for the Apple Watch was unerringly accurate, it’s pretty much the only thing I miss about the Apple Watch (well, that and the fact that when Apple develop new features they release it to devices capable of it. Garmin withholds those features, IMO jeopardising long term revenue from repeat customers in an effort to drive short term sales.). The Fenix sleep tracking is embarrassingly bad. It will suggest I’m asleep when I’m not even home yet if I’ve been travelling later than the “sleep time” setting, and it will tell me i was still asleep in the morning despite actually counting the steps during that same period.
