Any way to use Fenix 6 default wf for 5+?

Unless Garmin makes it available you're probably best off to create one yourself (and share it), if you can.

You can request that someone build a CIQ version of it here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/app-ideas

The watch face itself can't just be moved to another device so it would have to be done in CIQ.

As a developer of CIQ apps, does the new larger watch face affect your faces, or are they portable straight across?

Some will be fairly easy (based on past experience), but some may take a bit longer. Few if any WFs of mine will be just checking a few new check boxes.

It's more that I have in the neighborhood of 50 apps to port and so it's not just a couple and could take time.
