Amazon Music is now live

Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but amazon music is now live in the connect store finally

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/c6827fc2-5179-4df5-a0ff-3022db30e5ff

Brilliant addition :D

  • How to remove it successfully?

Would like to return to the default Garmin app.

IQ app errors every time on uninstall attempt, however much the watch is restarted

  • I have the same problem.

Only Amazon is selectable as music provider. I have no access to audiobooks/music stored on the fenix!

Uninstall of amazon music is not possible. I get an error in ConnectMobile when uninstalling the app.

How is it possible to hear music stored on the device now?

long press button and select music provider to your music

  • Hi, which Button in which screen?

In music settings I can only select Amazon as provider. "Local music/files" can't be selected.

In music screen amazon icon is shows (where only the folder for local mp3 was shown). I can not select another provider. The play button only starts amazon music. Selection of genres etc. for local files is not possible.

hm. strange. I can select between My music and Amazon music.... did you have local music on your device before installing Amazon? if not, maybe thats the reason you can't select.

update: i just tried to uninstall it, no problem. but I select "MY music" as provider FIRST and then uninstalles it.

  • As music provider only amazon is listed. That's the only entry in the list. "My music" is not listed.

I had mp3s in folder "Audiobooks". I'll check if the mp3s are still present (but I can't see why not). The "My music" entry should be there with or without files.

    Update:

    -restarted the fenix several times
-mp3 files are still present in folders Audiobook and Music
-music provider selection still only offers Amazon, not "My music"

    Update 2:

    • -I only looked in the music settings in the music screen (music widget, then menu button with the the dots, then scroll to the settings/gear, then select provider). There only one provider is visible.
    • -Now I pressed the menu button long time in the wigdet and got to global settings. There you can choose a provider, too. And there it is possible to select "My music".
    • Very irritating that there are two setting with same caption but different content...

@Viennaboy: now I know what button long press you meant :-)

Well, now I could select My music and I'm able to hear local music again.
Perhaps this info helps other user to find the right settings menu.

    Try this

For those of you struggling to uninstall it - the fix seems to be Start Music Hold down the MENU key to get to providers. My Music won't work, go to Control Phone (it may ask you to start Music on your phone, if so do so and start playback and confirm the watch is showing the file playing) Then go to either Garmin Connect or Connect IQ and then uninstall Amazon Music - that seems to work for me

  • Not available on my fenix 5x plus apac

  • Thank you for this info.

I can now switch back to the stock player.

My concern here now is - Is the amazon app trying to connect & update in the background, because it is still uninstallable, and consequently draining precious battery life?
