  • maxmekker, I fully agree with you. The list of bugs is long. And while I don't know if the beta versions are better than the stable versions (Garmin would be very stupid if they would do so, as it is completely against any sense), it is clear that there are many bugs/features that are not really working, even now with Firmware 7.60, and the watch being close to end of life / being replaced by the successor.

  • I had a Polar M400 before. And while it has of course much less features than my Garmin 5+, all the features it had worked very well.

This is not the case for the 5+ I own. One example: The navigation is often not usable, as the watch is showing only the track but doesn't render the underlying map anymore. Especially happening after pausing/resuming the tracking/navigation. Strictly speaking, one could say that the watch thus doesn't offer this function, as it is not so reliably integrated that I can use it, when I want.

It is true that (for my taste) the F5+ looks much better than my M400. It is also much nicer to wear. But for what you get - the Garmin costs more than 5 times more incl HRM run - I don't think the Garmin is worth its money, and I cannot recommend it if ppl ask me which they should buy.

  • Or it means that the stables are very bad. I don't feel his criticism exaggerated. For this price tag, the devices deserve much better/stable/bug free software.
