Fenix 6 ... WHY should there be ANY difference to the usual BUG-CHAOS with garmin?

Can anybody give a real good argument (except that garmin gets your money and laughts) why anybody (not the total stupid ones...) should buy the new Fenix 6 and beleave, that anything will change/improve with the software bug-chaos, the total ignorance of user complaints and non existing, serious support at Garmin?

I beg you please tell me a good arguemnt because i need to spend the hundreds of dollars only to experience again, that the product does not work as sold and everytime the firmware gets updated, another thing is broken that (maybe) had worked before!

  • Why are you still using Garmin devices, and even consider buying yet another one?

  • Jesus people, if you’re so unhappy with your Garmin devices...THEN STOP BUYING THEM!

What do you think you’re going to gain by creating this idiotic post? You aren’t forced to buy ANY product from Garmin, it’s your CHOICE to do so. Do you really think you’re going to find another company that has a bug free product? Do you think you’re going to find another ABC watch like the Fenix series that offers as much as it does? Let me answer that for you, NO! While not perfect, the 5+ series is pretty darn good.

Admins, please close this ridiculous topic as there is NOTHING to be gained by it.

  • Please convince me also why I should continue to buy another garmin device?

Why would anyone try that? To me it seems quite obvious that it will not be able to meet your expectations.

I don't even understand how they still have customers?!

I perfectly understand why Garmin still has customers since I can't think of any other manufacturers that are even close to deliver a device that packs the same amount of features as Garmin. I don't believe your experiences are representative for the majority of customers - certainly not mine.

  • If you were to have problems with your watch like others have you may feel differently , I gave up on my forerunner 935 got through 3, all faulty, changed to a fenix which is much better, but Just changed out another through rma as my 5xplus did not work anymore,  my guess my new one will go the same way, I had to argue with Garmin for months about various problems , I hope you never have a problem with your watch as it's a real pain, I won't be upgrading my 5xplus for a few years, as what's the point, I don't yet know half the stuff it's capable of, when it works it's fantastic , they could improve it, but the rumours of the new ones don't interest me at all.

  • My F5+ has quite a few bugs that annoy me but they don't really affect/prevent it's primary use cases.

Won't stop me getting an F6...I run pretty much every day so it's worth it to me.  Only thing that would stop me is if Suunto or Polar really got their acts together and created a compelling offering with similar features for a lot less money!

  • So that's three 935s and one 5xplus faulty. Are you sure it's the watches that are the problem?

Statistically that sounds very very strange to me.

  • Are you suggesting the problem is mine ?   not sure why i have to answer to you, but the truth is every Garmin product I have owned has been faulty, every one, bugs, hardware, they are a serious amount of money and in this day and age people do not expect things to last, well I do, to be honest my old forerunner 910 worked better than my 935, even though it took 10 minutes to get satellites, the 3 935s 1st one altimetre went wrong, second one kept burning my wrist on the ohr, no not a rash it burnt, even my wife tried, same happened to her within a few hours, 3rd one just stopped green triangle, never worked again, My 5x plus first one was fine for a while, even though virtual racer did not work for several months due to software, then the gps just went, i must of factory re-set the thing 5-6 times in one year, and then i never got a ftp update, it disappeared from the watch, that's a big problem for me, it's how i train, now Garmin kindly replaced it for a new one, and as of now it's working, but it will have problems I am 100% sure, I would not swap it for a 945, maybe a fenix 7, but not the 6 waste of money, maybe buy a 6 when the 7 is out, for the first 6 months the software will be poor anyway.

  • not sure why i have to answer to you

You don't, but given that you posted on a discussion forum you shouldn't be surprised that someone left you an answer?

the truth is every Garmin product I have owned has been faulty

I'm genuinly sorry for you, but I can't imagine four (or five counting the 910 as well) faulty devices in a row are representative of the average customer experience.

  • Saho,  your response is pathetic!

Claiming the issue is his and not the watch.  I am on my third MARQ! The first one had screen issues,  the second one the battery did not last more than 4 days and now the third one is also the same.  So is my fault as well? For expecting something to work the same way it is described on the specifications ?
