You think you have synced your watch. That sounds vague and should probably be the first thing to look at.

Before you sync, do you see your current HR on the phone?

After you syncted, are daily calories updated on the phone to the same values as in the calories widget on the watch.

Ok, just checked my phone (garmin connect for android app) and it shows my watch connected (little green dot at the 2 o'clock position), it will sync if I tap the upper right double arrow circle thingy, and my steps match what the watch says and I did a workout today that shows as well on the mobile app.

looking at the calendar on the mobile app I have a run scheduled for a marathon plan that was set up weeks ago and was working just fine (prior to last nights factory reset) and it does not show up when I select run activity
