some songs not transferred

I"m transferring songs with iTunes and some won't transfer. They are .mp3s,

I"m selecting a playlist in Garmin Express to transfer.

If I look at the upper part of Garmin express, where it shows my iTunes library, and look at the particular playlist, the song count is incorrect, for whatever reason Garmin express is showing say 50 songs, but there really are 70 songs in the iTunes playlist.

Has anyone else had this issue?

  • I just double checked with windows that none of the .mp3s in question are "protected", so that should not be the issue

  • Hello, you have to completely delete the music folder on the garmin device, disconnect the cable and redo a sync

  • Hi,

thanks for the help, it didn't directly fix my problem but it led me in the direction to fixing the issue, so I appreciate it.

I in the interest of helping someone else here is what was going on. I'm using Win10 and iTunes.

I understand the music needs to be on the C: drive for Garmin connect to use it, which it all is, however since iTunes isn't really my preferred option to manage music I'm not super versed in it, at any rate, I've got music in a bunch of different folders, on the C drive and itunes can see them of course,

so the music that was not transferring was not in the "this PC>music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Media folder, once I moved the song into that folder and refreshed Garmin Connect it sees the missing songs,

    What a pain!

    But thank you for helping!

    Gratzi!

    Hi,

    am having the same issue,

but I think it is because I have a monthly itunes apple music account, and dont download the songs specifically,

is there a way around this?

I trust this makes sense, if I go into iTunes music on my PC I dont have all the songs ( in folders) as there are on my phone,

which is assume is due to the fact that I have apple music

  • I have my iTunes music stored on an external hard drive, I wonder if that my problem?
did you have to do anything more then relocate the missing songs?

  • If there any special characters or non english characters, the watch doesn't see it. I had to go into the folder where I kept all my music files on my PC and removed all special characters. Then I resynced with the watch and it showed the songs.

  • I am seeing the same issue but my songs are on my normal Windows folder. There are 5 songs in it. Garmin connect only shows 2 of them. Any luck ?

  • Hi. Check your mp3s are single audio track and there's no other ones like subtitles or similar (yes, some mp3s have it, check on VLC player audio properties). To solve it you just export this mp3 into an mp3 again with VLC, and you will get a single track mp3 file.
