Fenix 3 HR problems!

Since there is no more Fenix 3 HR forum, I will post here!

With the 5.40 update (even earlier) you've just broke the 3 HR! Every time it's connected to Garmin Connect IQ, the watch just restarts continuously, the altimeter it's bouncing every minute (+/- 10m), the battery drains much faster (watch is new, purchased in APRIL 2019). Had the Fenix 5x Plus before, had to sell it because I was at my 3rd one, 2 of them changed under warranty because of altimeter/barometer/compass not working and screen issues, you don't have to "convice" me to upgrade from the 3 HR by ruining it with bad software updates! Had the Fenix 5, then the Fenix 5x Plus, but I preferred to go with the Fenix 3 HR, less problems with it, until NOW.

Hopefully you will adress this issues, fix them, if not, I will gladly NOT buy any other Garmin product.

  • Have you reported this to Garmin Support directly?

  • Not by me but by others and they didn't get any responses. I will try it to but expecting the same result.

Posted this here just in case there are other users with the same issues.

  • I've just sent them an email as detailed as possible, but as I said, I am expecting the same generic answer as others received.

  •   Since you have already reached out to your local support team and this thread not for a fenix 5 Plus, we are going to close the thread.

Though I will note that the issue does sound like you are having an issue with an IQ app, and if you are trying to change your watchface and a device shuts off, the first thing to do is to remove any of the add IQ apps and try it again.  If it doesn't happen then, then you know it is one of the apps and you can add one at a time and retest to find out which one it is. Once you do find the app that causing the issue, it is always nice if you reach out to that Developer so they know and can work on a fix for you.

Also, some IQ apps can cause battery drain too and other odd issues.  So there is another reason to test out your fenix 3 HR without any add-ons.

So I hope that helps and I'm happy to hear you are already working with Garmin Support.
