ANT+ Cycling Dynamics broken with Favero Assioma Duo

Hi,

Basically, since I enabled the function via firmware update on the pedals, only power phases work correctly. The other function of position detection is not showing any time for seated vs standing (only showing --:--). PCO is not supported on my pedals yet Connect mobile shows values of 0 for everything.

It appears that the watch only supports the proprietary Vector 3 standard instead of the new ANT+ standard, when will this be enabled as I prefer not to see garbage data in my training sessions and the watch should comply with the latest version of the ANT+ power profile.

  • For me PCO didn't work, but that wasn't suppose to, however the other two, power phases and riding positions worked for two rides. Today though, it stopped, showed 0, as for you. I restarted the edge and will check if it comes back. But since it worked earlier, at worst I suppose they will fix it with another firmware

  • After edge restart, it worked again

  • Thank You for replying, which edge unit do you have? I will try restarting the watch and see if it fixes the issue.

These pedals do not support PCO yet on the ride summary it displays all the graphics of the pedals with 0 values.

I'm assuming Garmin has to improve discerning between Vector and non-vector pedals as it should ignore PCO, and there is something wrong with rider position.

Just to clarify, power phases always work for me, it's only rider position that is screwed up and the blank PCO data, is this the case for you.

  • Nope, for me it was both, power phases and rider position, both showed "--" in Edge (1030 btw) and weren't visible on activity page of that particular ride. And both came back after reboot.

  • Thank You, it looks like I have to open up a ticket with Garmin as the watch doesn't seem to support rider position and only power phases are working reliably.

It's good to hear that the 1030 is at least working albeit intermittently, as I also have one paired with the same power meter on my outdoor bike, however I prefer my 5+ for indoor training.

  • My Experience with Assioma + Forerunner945:

Nothing worked at first, after UNPAIRING the assioma and re-pairing (during witch the forerunner asked my the %-age for peak-power - left it at the defaulr 50%) now everything EXCEPT for Platform/Center-Offset works.

    PCO always shows 0/0.

    Everything else seems fine.

  • I already tried un-pairing and re-pairing with the same result.

Basically something weird is happening as the data seems to be recording because everything is shown on the Connect web portal, including the graph of seated/standing status, however, both the mobile app and and the web portal have no time for seated/standing status under the graphic and the toggle switch on the stats page is not showing an option for position.

Basically, something is broken with position recording on this model of watch.

It would be nice if a Garmin employee could chime in to this thread as they occasionally do with certain issues.

  • It only worked properly for one ride yesterday, today it is back to the old defective behavior.

I'm awaiting the response from Garmin regarding the ticket I have opened.

This is my experience with assioma one and fenix 5 plus, the dynamics that must be shown do well, those that garmin does not leave, are not shown

  • I think I figured it out, although I must still run some tests. Position detection works correctly if you stand for at least a few seconds during a ride.

During my prior indoor training I did not stand at all and there were no times reported for seating/standing time, but the graph still manifested correctly. Today I tried to stand for a few seconds and my data looks similar to yours (with the additional right sensor data).

Therefore, it looks like there is some reporting bug as it should still report that I was seated the entire time instead of blanks.

Also, 3 days have passed and I have not received a reply from Garmin regarding my ticket. I have experienced great support from them before so I'm not sure what has changed now.
