Garmin Fenix 5 Plus doesn't connect to any GPS

Dear Community, maybe you can help me out.

Out of a sudden, my F5P does not connect to any GPS satellite, independently of the Activity that I'm trying to use.

I've tried some of possible solutions that I've saw through this forum and over Reddit:

- Started an activity and waited for 20 minutes (one hour in fact) on a clear sky and open air

- Removed EPO.bin file, synched with Garmin Connect or Garmin Express, refresh the EPO file and try again

- Reinstall all the maps

- Full factory reset via the watch

And nothing solves the issue that is not connecting to any GPS (the GPS letters in any activity are always RED) and when i record an activity, of course, the maps are not embedded in the activity itself.

I also have a Vivoactive HR and I even tried to see if it was a problem with region, but no, the Vivoactive connected to a GPS and the F5P, no.

I've tried this with both firmwares, 7.60 and the 8.02 beta.

I'm trying to reach out to Garmin via Online Chat but obviously "all operators are busy" and i don't want to make a call to US as i currently live in Europe (only phone numbers available are in the US)

Anyone else have any magic idea on what i could do?

Thank you very much!

Pedro

  • Galileo satellite system was down for a couple of days. It is working but still not fully operational I suppose. Change the GPS settings to GPS+GLONASS and check if this will resolve your issue.

Thank you for the reply , i've tried with all of them "GPS Only", "+GLONASS", "+GALILEO", "UltraTac" and nothing...

    Any other suggestion?

  • sorry but no... or at least no other than reaching Garmin support

    -------------------

Even with deleting *everything* possible from the watch that Windows Explorer allowed me to do it, and restoring it, GPS is still not connecting...

If anyone has other tricks, please let me know!

  • Hola Pedro, prueba a instalar una beta, metiendo todos los ficheros como se indica. Tienes que hacerlo a través de android file

No worries, it didn't work anyway.

Message from Yago was to delete everything possible from the watch that was allowed to be deleted by the File Manager.

Message from Rafael, He suggested for me to install a Beta version, which I've also already done and to no avail.

So, still the same and no progress whatsoever.

By the way, I've reached Garmin Support via email and all they did was to tell me to use a tool called "WebUploader" and again, it didn't do anything, just saying that it was already updated to the latest version.

    Screenshots attached.

    Thanks,

    Pedro
