Pairing Issue

My Fenix 5+ has been paired to my phone/Garmin Connect for months with no issue.  Last week, for no valid reason, it refused to auto connect.  I unpaired it yesterday (as nothing else was working) and since then haven't been able to reconnect or re-pair *pairing failed*.  I've not changed anything (phone wise), I've tried switching off and on, I've updated all software etc but still nothing. 

This is on top of some issues I experienced last week (open water swim failing and HR not working in trekking mode). 

Anyone have any ideas? Device is less than a year old.
