Hello,
Any insight would be appreciated. I have a couple of questions about data screens during a workout.
I did a fartlek workout from a marathon training plan in Garmin Connect. I selected the run on the watch from my training calendar and began the workout. First question, what are the automatic data screens called that come up when you select a training plan workout? In other words, when I do a run in my marathon plan, I select it on the watch and for instance, a long run for 75 min in HR zone 2 starts with a data screen that I did not create for runs, rather a nifty screen that has HR zone 2 in the middle, and time remaining below it, I like it but just want to know what that feature is called? Auto data screens?
At any rate, what I'll call the auto data screen for fartlek workout had three fields, I believe they were time remaining, and step pace and step distance. What are step pace and distance? Step distance seemed to be my distance I had run. I do have my watch set to do auto laps. Before I got to one mile (auto lap set to 1 mile) I pressed the LAP button to see if that was what the watch was wanting me to do as I changed pace running, big mistake that ended the workout, or rather began the cooldown timer.
Had I left the watch alone, what would have happened with the steps?
Also, after I hit the lap button and screwed up the workout I discarded it. Should I have selected "start over again"? or something like that? Because after I discarded the workout, I began a new run, from my training plan, the fartlek for today, but the nifty auto data screen did not show up for that workout.
Thanks,
M
