No sync with 5x plus after fw Update to 7.60 anymore on Android

Since updating on my 5xplus to fw 7.6 I can not sync with android 9. I removed the watch from the connect app, I uninstalled the app, I restarted the watch. No improvement, now when I reconnect to the watch the app does find the watch, but shows an error when connecting. With 7.50 everything was fine. What can I do? Thanks very much. Other that I am glad to own this great watch!

I am having difficulties in syncing activities since last week or so.. not sure if related to new firmware but is a bit suspicious (but could be the connect app I suppose). Using latest firmware on Note 8 (Android).
It isn't 'nothing works' but often need to click the sync button in the app for it to pull in properly (and sometimes I need to do it repeatedly).. it just seems to be a bit hit and miss as to whether i pulls the activity or not
