Fenix 5 Plus Battery Replacement

I've owned my Fenix 5 Plus since release and I beat on it regularly - often having to recharge twice a week, which is starting to reveal itself in a slight reduction to battery life.

I'll be doing a great deal of hiking and ultra running starting next year, so I'm wanting to ensure that the watches battery is in peak condition which is likely going to require the battery being replaced. A quick glance through Garmin documentation shows that the battery is user replaceable and will need to be carried out under an RMA. Boo.

My question to the forum is: Has anyone gone through the RMA process to have the battery replaced at their own expense? If so, what price am I looking at?
