8.01 beta version findings

Hey everyone,

Just a post to share feedback on 8.01 beta which was posted earlier today.

Installed on my Fenix 5s+ without issue, going smoothly so far.
Have not tested activity yet but it's a good thing Garmin is considering battery issues as well as open swimming accuracy !
Let's hope we'll see some improvement.

Actually, there's more to this as it has the beta version of CIQ 3.1 (it's beta as it's 3.1.0 and the zero for that indicates beta)

There could be more 7.xx fw but with CIQ 3.0.x.

Very strange that three fixes requires a new major version number, normally reserved for added features.

I agree - it's only a firmware update as well and there are no sensor/gps/ant/wifi updates either.

After installing the beta, the battery usage widgets stopped working properly. I use the BatteryGauge and BatteryWidget.

Guess that's tied to:

Fixed an issue where the battery gauge reports an incorrect value after a power cycle.

MyBattery is OK for me but BatteryGauge went a bit awry - the Statistic screen disappeared! :-) I'm sure the Devs will fix these soon!

I am running Battery widget and everything is working fine after the FW update. I did have to let it run for a while as the stats page was showing dashes until it had a chance to build some data.

Other than that after a few hours all is running fine.
