  • Fixed an issue where the device could intermittently stop recording distance during a swim activity.
  • Fixed an issue where the battery gauge reports an incorrect value after a power cycle.
  • Fixed an issue where the user was not able to set the Compass North reference in Russian.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

Please send all bug reports to [email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 Plus series you have in the subject line.

  • Did you do any testing with the 20.01 Beta CIQ FW from the summit, or do you mean the 7.55 beta?

What SDK did you use to build?  I've not seen any problem with doing a "save" in my apps.  I last built the apps with 3.0.11.

  • Hi, Jim.  No other testing than what I wrote above.  I guess there is an issue with apps & widgets built with SDK 3.0.x and this 8.01 F5Beta Release firmware.  My apps should be ok in SDK 3.1, since I tested all with SDK 3.1-beta3 simulator.

Today although I have sleep data it's not showing at all on GC Web, and on the app it shows the hours in each stage, and the POx measurements, but no more details than that - anyone else on 8.01 seeing this?

If I look in the normal POx view, I see the data taken overnight - however the Sleep view shows no movement graph, and POx graph shows no yellow line even though the data is there

  • I just completed my first activity since installing the beta.  While I am sure not everyone is experiencing the same results, but my experience is this FW is recording the most accurate GPS tracks I have recorded on the device since I got it in April.  Being one data point, it is not a trend, but I did want to acknowledge Garmin for putting in the effort to improve the GPS recording.  For me FW 7.1 had the worst tracks, and each FW release since has had incremental improvements since.  This is a trend I hope continues.

Fortunately I have not had any more crashes since the one in the first 24 hours.  I also have not used much in the way of any CIQ apps since then either.

  • Has the gps version changed as part of this release? If possible can someone post gps, sensor hub, ble etc versions.

  • The GPS version did not change.  The beta download for the F5+ contains the latest files for all the watches different FW, i.e. GPS, WiFi, BLE, sensor hub, and main FW.

  • Is the OHR heart rate fixed? In 7.60 the ohr is not working very well...

  • Anyone with 8.01 who can test?

  • 8.01 here, OHR quite so so. One day I had fantastic tempo where it had very close to what I would guess numbers at any given moment. Wu, the tempo part itself, cd - all great. Other days I can hardly trust it though. Interval training very bad every time. I mean, it picks some number and imitates reading (showing some very close random numbers each second), but if you actually stand still or run very fast makes no difference - those are still same numbers! On bad days it also tends to lower HR slightly (yet noticeably). Probably also has something to do with resets and me wearing watch on different hands for sport, sleep and daily life. Because again, some days it works great and I know from experience numbers are right.
In daily life it is kinda the same. At some points spot on, at some points making its own numbers up.
