Will Fenix 5 Plus Use Chest Strap When Not In Activity?

Hi,

If I wear a properly paired heart rate strap, will the watch use it for its regular heart rate/activity monitoring when I'm not in any particular Activity or sports app?

I would say No, but that is too short for an answer.

Your watch does basically two seperate tasks.

Activity tracker and Sports watch.

In some widgets your strap data will be used, but only for a short while.

The HR widget only uses your strap data when the widget is activated.

Leaving the widget disconnects your strap from it and switches back to OHR-WHR.
