"Unable to sync the daily activity from this device … because it is not set as your activity tracker."

One leftover problem from the faulty update of a few weeks ago is that the sync is incomplete, and in Garmin Express I get the message in the subject of this post.

It does have a clickable link that is named "Change Activity Tracker", which seems like it should take care of things, but when it opens up that window, I can't find exactly where to click to set my watch as the "activity tracker".

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

  • When you had googled the question, you would have found:

    From Garmin Connect App:
    1. Open the app from your Smartphone.
    2. Access the Menu.
    3. Select Garmin Devices.
    4. Select the device you would like to set as the Preferred Activity Tracker.
    5. Select Device Settings If this option is not present, selectActivity Tracking.
    6. Select Set as Preferred Activity Tracker.
  • Report this on the Garmin Express thread. It's been a long-standing problem, well at least on Mac version irrespective of the fact that the watch has been set as the default activity tracker.

Do you have more than one device connected to your account?

8585962, that was exactly what it took to make it work on this Android phone. Couldn't CTRL-F it in the .pdf for the watch (the only device connected to the account), I'll try a google next time.

    Thanks again!
