No SW Updates and Price Cuts, F6 likely on the way

PSA: Garmin 5S plus is $150 off until June 15th at Running Warehouse, this combined with new SW updates not coming to this watch is highly indicative that the F6 is just around the corner. If you're looking at the F5 Plus, hold tight until the 6 comes out.

  • Garmin is just one of those greedy companies now who forces users to upgrade the whole watch to get new small SW updates. Unacceptable! My Fenix 5X+ costs more than an iPhone XR in my Country and I don't get any SW upgrades at all? Come one Garmin!

Greedy? Sorry, what features have they disabled on your Fenix 5 Plus to force you into an upgrade?

Youre getting ongoing bug fixes and patches that increase performance on the watch. You've also still got the very same functionality that compelled you to buy the watch in the first place.

If anyone's greedy, it's you. Have a think about it.

  • Garmin typically holds semi annual sales like this. Even the Instinct (which isn’t expected to get an upgrade until October ‘20), got a discount.

Beta 7.52 just came out 2 weeks ago, with 7.10 not long before that. The F6 will come out around CES ‘20 or so. So take advantage of these good deals, because the F6x will most likely be north of $900 when it comes out. The sales on these watches will look like a bargain.

Exactly and it'll likely feature a 1.5" transflective display and LTE connectivity. Think of how that'll be priced given the 945's current feature set and pricing if it were to come out before the first around of 945 price cuts.
