Fenix 5x Plus and Power Meter issue

I have just recently bought a power meter and first connected it to my Edge 520 Plus and there are no issues there. The readings seem reasonable.

However, in order to get better calorie estimate on my Fenix 5x Plus I also connect the Power Meter to my watch. Tested it for the first time today and the readings are ridiculous.My max power was almost 55,000 W which of course makes no sense. 

Any help as to what might be causing it would be much appreciated.

    If you have an APAC version - update was just launched after 7 months of power meter bug.

    If you don't have an APAC - install 7.1 release and it should work.

    I just updated it yesdterday and boy there seems to be bugs or features that I don’t want which wasn’t present in the 5.1 version

    first off : after upgrading, my saved locations were wiped clean. Syncing it back thru garmin Explore didn’t work. Saving a new location from within the watch didn’t work. (It’s like the file became read only). Solution was to erase watch back to factory. Fun!!

    2nd : power meter connection seems to be poorer. It’s like garmin tweaked the antennae and made it weaker. Following that, my cadence won’t show up. On my bike trainer, the PM doesnt transmit cadence so I am using a wahoo RPM cadence sensor. It was fine on 5.1 but on 7.1 - it completely neglects it. Once I removed the PM then yeah it works again.

    Thank you. Will definitely check it out. Hopefully it works as it was a disaster last time.
