Sleep function not working consistently

My sleep function was working but about two months ago it got very spotty. Now it only records two ot three hours maybe every three or four days; otherwise it tells me there was no data recorded. Strangely the Ox level does work every night but only for three or four hours.

On those occasions when it does give me a recording of all parameters but only for a couple of hours and I then enter my guesstimate of what my sleep was it gives me the movement chart for the whole period I entered and that lets me calibrate what I enter. Interestingly it then also seems to adjust itself.

i get the impression that Garmin is close to a solution but no cigar yet. For the money one pays for a 5x plus there is no excuse. If they can’t fix it I’m going to Apple where it gets better everyday on the med applications.

  • Je rencontre le même problème avec la bêta 7.52.

  • I had my Fenix 5+ also not recording any sleep today. Meaning, not even "standard" sleep - sometimes, the "advanced sleep tracking" does not work, but tonight, the watch simply recorded nothing. No idea why.

  • I suspect the problem lies more with GCM or GCinterweb than the watch. Have you reported the issue to Garmin Support?

  • Not yet on this issue, no.

  • My 5S Plus did the same thing last night. It usually always registers sleep, but did not register any.  I have had this happen only one time before.

Check to see if the watch has been consistently reading your heart rate throughout the evening. I ended up tightening my wrist band for the same reasons as sleep tracking requires a continual reading

  • This is an English forum

  • I tried the sleep feature but its very low quality vs oura...would like to sell my oura

wondering if the 945 sleep is better

  • All Garmin watches suffer from shoddy sleep tracking and it is more or less Firstbeat's fault. Across three different models I've noticed the exact same thing. After the initial sync with the app it is quite accurate, but after a while (after it has been synced with Firstbeat and processed for "advanced sleep tracking" it comes back with widely inaccurate results. I.e the Garmin app initially says I went to sleep and got up at more or less correct hours, but then it gets updated after a while and tells me I went to sleep 3 hours earlier and awoke 1 hour later

  • I have a similar problem.  Beginning last Friday, the Sleep Tracker function on my 5x Plus has stopped working properly. Time asleep is now logged as Awake in Garmin Connect (check your calendar to see if your sleep is missing because it is seen as awake time). Movement and Sleep Puls Ox are working fine; only the Sleep time is incorrect.  The problem is definitely with the 5xP, as my Vivosmart works fine (see attached - Wednesday night I used the vivosmart). I have been in touch with Garmin support, yet they have no suggestions while acknowledging the issue. I have been wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and clearly I am not alone .
