TopoActive Europe 2019.10 released

A few days ago I got TopoActive Europe 2019.10 offered for installation.

From looking at the data, it definitely isn't "2019". Changes I made in OpenStreetMap in December 2018 aren't there. Sadly, I didn't make any changes that would show up on the map back until April 2019 - and THOSE are there.

    My F5+ takes very long to load these maps (after updating via express & unplugging the device from the PC for the first time after the update). Also, I had some issues this weekend during navigation (maps were not shown), just the GPS track.

    I deleted all Garmin maps and loaded only the OSM/topo maps I need. Loading is fast now. In my region of western Europe OSM has much more details than Garmin so I'm happy!

    Ok, thanks! Maybe I'll give this a try. Loading took about 15min, which was not the case with the previous maps (2018.xx).

    Hm. It really seems that there is something broken for me with this maps. Loading took 15min, and it seems there are only the "big streets" loaded. When I zoom into a city in Germany/France, there are no streets.

    Cities in Switzerland (where I currently live) work well. Seems there is no detailed data for Germany/France (only big streets). I'll contact Garmin.

    Hi Rob,

    can you tell me exactly which maps I can delete and which maps I defenitly have to keep ? I also wan’t to install OSM maps.

    Hi,

    gmapbmap.img is de garmin basic (base) map. I would leave it, its small. 

    gmapdem.img is the digital elevation map that complements

    gmapprom.img which is the main map for your region.

    You can back them up, delete them from your watch and download a .img file of your choice. Just dump it in the same folder the current maps are in. I have a small topo, loads in 1 second.

    I had the same problem. Reinstalling all maps via Express did the trick for me. Now it is as fast as it has previously been.

    I have exactly the same issue. The original maps on the watch, had lots of details. with 2019.10 I can see only major streets (in yellow) and thats it. London based.

    Just in case gets the same issue as me I leave this here. Map was missing all the details, only major roads were appearing (in yellow).

    So it appears that TopoActive 2019.10 South West was missing from my watch (Fenix 5 plus). I reinstalled all available maps using garmin express (it was showing as 'reistanll'). The first time I did it on mac with no luck, second time I did it through windows (bootcamp) and it installed the additional South West map.

    Same problem for me. On Garmin express it is called "TopoActive Europe 2019.10", on my Fenix 5 Plus it shows, under Map options, as TopoActive Europe 2019.10, North East. This means that, for me living in Italy, all previously available level of map details has been lost. Reinstalling that map with Garmin express from my Mac made no difference. Should I try with Windows?
