ANT+ sensors will not connect to Fenix 5X Plus

In the past week, I noticed my ANT+ only sensors will not connect with my Fenix 5X Plus watch.

They will pair with my Edge 520 (cadence, speed and Vector 3 ANT+ side), but I have deleted and tried to re-add and they won't locate to pair or connect.

Replaced all batteries.  All software is up to date...

I tried my Vector 3 pedals and it will only find the bluetooth side.  Even at that I paired BLE and tried to calibrate and got Error : 0.

Something going on with the Fenix 5X Plus for anyone else?

  • No, I ran this morning with my 5x plus as a 2nd device. It was connected to an HRM-Run, Garmin Foot Pod, and Garmin Tempe at the time of the run. It connected to each just fine. Additionally, I did a bike ride with the 5x also attached to the Garmin speed and cadence sensor snot long ago without issue. Have you tried a reboot? I've had the occasional situation where it wouldn't connect to headphones till I did that. Not sure if the Garmin is to fault or the various bluetooth headphones i have.

Yes Im having the same issue. My Wahoo Tickr HRM was working fine but now the new SW update my watch will not find the HRM. I have removed and tried to reinstall the HRM with no success.

  • Have you tried a hard reset/reboot of the watch? (hold light button until watch blacks out, then power back up).

I had a similar experience the other day - neither my HRM-Run or my Stryd would connect.

I remembered getting a battery warning for my HRM-Run on the run before, and I hadn't charged my Stryd for quite some time - so I figured that they were both just out of power.

However - after changing battery in the HRM-Run and charging the Stryd, they still wouldn't connect. I then did a hard reboot of the watch, and both connected straight away.

  • Yes I too noticed earlier with 7.10 that my cadence sensor was not giving any readings in Fenix 5 Plus. Just thought it was running out of battery.

Then also HRM Tri did not connect and I only noticed that by not having running power nor dynamics available. That can't be because of the battery since I just changed it.

Yesterday I installed 7.52 beta and today suddenly cadence sensor was working normally again. I also went trail running and HRM Tri was working again giving running dynamics and power readings.

Restarted the watch a few times with no progress, then followed instructions verbatim ( hold light button until watch blacks out) and it worked!!!

  • I found this recently, I noticed my vector 3 pedals were flashing red then green, which indicates a software update.  I have since removed my vector 3 pedals from farming connect and my watch has connected to my pedals via Ant+ every time.

Not sure if this is related, but thought it was worth noting.
