hey guys, just discovered today two real small scratches on the sapphire glas if my 5x plus. is it just me or is sapphire glas maybe not that tough as advertisment tells us. Those scratches are visible only via certain lighting, but they are there, you can even feel them with your fingernail.....
It's tough, but not 100% scratch proof - No glass is. Do you do any real active sports?
well, yes, that's what the whole watch is for ;) I was just a bit curious as a lot of people tend to say, that sapphire cannot be scratched with anything other than a diamond.....
It's not only I wear it for sports, it's my daily rocker, also when I work on my motorbikes or car....
Lol, no... weird though. Put I suppose with the right conditions it could be scratched. Haven't noticed any on mine but it's a daily driver too.... perhaps diamond dust from sanding??
anything that incorporates particles harder than sapphire could scratch it.
e.g. - silicon carbide crystals can be found in some walls finishing... I scratched years ago a sapphire mechanical watch when I climbed on a roof. - silicon carbide also diamond is used in sandpapers - I have also diamond covered tools
