Jabra headphones don't connect

Hello,
I just purchased a new jabra elite active 65t and when i tried to pair it to my watch i was unsucsesfull.
The watch recognized the jabra headphones but failed to connect.
So at first i thought that there might be a problem with the headphones, so i tried to connect the headphones to my phone and it was sucssesfull.

i have the iphone airpod witch i can sucsesfully connect to them to the watch. only jabra didnt connect.

I know that if i want to connect now the headphones to the watch i must disconnect from the phone.

anyone else have that problem with the jabra headphones???

THANK YOU
  • I bought a set some time ago and they connected just fine. Returned them asap, never heard such a tinny sound. Big disappointment! (Comparing to my Sony WH-1000-XM2 connected to my Huawei Mate 20 Pro using LDAC protocol)
  • I have a pair of those and mine connect fine with my fenix 5 Plus (they didn't on my old Forerunner 645M - very intermittent and had to often repair). They won't connect if the Jabras are also connected to something else, like your iPhone so I often have to turn off my iPhone Bluetooth.

For what it's worth, I found the sound quality fairly decent for true wireless earbuds playing music from a watch.

I have the same issue.  It appears to have paired, but won't connect.  I tried removing then re-adding the Jabra Elite Active 65t, but the same problem occurs.

I have the same headphones and they work just fine. Sometimes it takes 2-3 attempts to get them to connect. If I run into issues, I restart the watch and turn off the headphones (long press right side), then I turn the headphones back on (again long press right side) and at the same time I start the connection from the Fenix side (start music).

I also agree that it helps if it is not connected to anything else. I usually do the connection when I'm already out and far away from my phone (if I have my phone with me I listen to music from the phone).

  • I have the same headphones and I've used them with a few different Garmin devices and have learned some tricks.

    1. Sometimes getting these paired is a bit of a pain. I don't know why, but when they show up as available and don't actually connect/pair they are often left as a mostly broken item in the sensors/headphones menu. When this happens, removing them from the watch menu and rebooting the watch seems to let them pair the 2nd time.

    2. When connecting they act really oddly if they are not connected to a device in the first 10 seconds or so of them being out of the case. This is especially true if the watch is the only thing paired to these headphones.

    3. For best results, after pairing, i put them back in the case. I then pull them back out and if they do not connect to my phone, i force a connection through the phones bluetooth menu. I then put these back in the case to turn them off. This lets them auto connect to my phone as soon as they come out of the case. The watch can then be connected easily from the music widget/controls and i rarely have issues when it is the 2nd device connected.

    4. Until you run out of range of your phone and hear the Jabra headphones announce "device disconnected"  bluetooth performance will generally suck. Once out of range of your phone it should drastically improve.

Some of these issues are due to the way Jabra is looking for a connection to their app when you pull the headphones out of the case. In the MARQ forum there is some additional info and it appears that Garmin is working with Jabra on these issues. However the tips above generally work well for me and prevent issues.
