Garmin Coach Widget

Since they have added up to half marathon at 7 minute mile pace on Garmin Coach I thought I would give it a try. When I trialled this last year with the 5k plan it added a Garmin Coach Widget to the watch so that I could quickly check upcoming sessions. This has not appeared on the half marathon plan on software 7.10.

Anyone tried these new plans and have the widget showing?

I'm also playing with the HM plan and the Coach widget showed up on my watch and in the My Day pane of the mobile app.

Does the Garmin Coach widget even work with the fenix 5+ yet? If so, I think I have a bug. I tested out a 10K plan. No widget shows up for me, but the watch seems to think a widget is there.

In the widget roll dots, there is an extra dot when I scroll through. However, when it gets to that extra dot, it jumps over it. If I go into the widget settings and select to move a widget that is next to that extra dot, you can see the widget option for Garmin Coach in the list of active widgets, next to the widget I selected to move.

dxbydy: Are you seeing anything similar to the above?

Anyone else getting the widget to show up?

I've been running the Garmin coach widget on both the 6.x and 7.x firmware releases. The widget appears to be a calendar which allows you to view and do workouts.

Note: The widget has always worked, displaying rest and workout days across multiple coaching plans - from 5k to half marathon for me. It's always worked.

Just tried again on 7.52 firmware. No widget still. I have about 10 coach plans in my list I have quit testing this and there is no way to delete them in Garmin Connect!

I was also wondering where this is and I get exactly the same behaviour. Extra dot that gets skipped and Garmin Coach appearing in the rearrange menu but never showing.

Anyone tested this with new beta fw?

This is unrelated to the problem of the widget not showing up, but this is also a change I'd like to see made: allow us to delete "Completed" training plans. Like yourself, I did some test plans when I was seeing unintended behavior, but now that I have quit those plans, they are forever showing in my completed plans. Goals and challenges allow you to delete old, completed instances, so I'm not sure why we don't get a similar option under the gear-shaped settings icon for each completed Garmin Coach plan.

New beta exactly the same. Dot that gets skipped and Garmin Coach visible when reordering other widgets.

Started a HM training plan with the new coaches and see the same behaviour here on a F5S+ SW is 7.10. An extra dot widget in the menu when rearranging but no Coach widget visible.

I started a half plan. I went to widgets in the settings and selected "add widget" then added "Garmin Coach" and now it's there. I can get same info or more from pushing "start" to start an activity, then clicking "menu"/up button, when I'm hovering over "run," then select "training" and "training plan." I prefer the widget- it's much faster.

What software version you on?
