Help with new 5s plus

Hi all , I’m new to Garmin and I’m trying to figure out how to set the watch to have the backlight come on when I turn my wrist to look at time ? And second after I updated to 7.10 I’m not receiving text messages from my iPhone , only other notifications I’m receiving...

Can't help with iPhone issues, I'm pure Android.... Hope this will help with gesture activated backlight..........

Hold MENU.
Select Settings > System > Backlight.
Select an option:
- Select During Activity.
- Or
- Select Not During Activity.
Select an option:
- Select Keys to turn on the backlight for key presses.
- Select Alerts to turn on the backlight for alerts.
- Select Gesture to turn on the backlight by raising and turning your arm to look at your wrist.
- Select Timeout to set the length of time before the backlight turns off.
- Select Brightness to set the brightness level of the backlight.
