Received and installed this morning, all without any problems. Running a soft reset now and will test this weekend with a mapped run and charge
edit: with soft reset (holding power for 15 secs), I now get a message after 5 secs saying 'set up assistance using garmin connect mobile'. Anyone seen this before? I can reset by continuing to hold past this message but just wonder if it's a new feature as nothing new setup with hotkeys.
Yeah that’s that Assistance Alert feature that quietly came with one of the recent betas (since 6.00). I can only guess it’s not been listed as a feature with 7.00/7.10, as it needs support from GCM and that bit is not fully ready yet.
All that aside, if you keep holding the light button beyond that notice, the watch does do the ‘soft’ reset.
There is also incident detection. If you go to Settings>Safety on the watch, you can turn it on/off for activities, and what it does, is automatically send a message is something unexpected happens during the activity. For assistance, I think it's meant to be a std sequence (no hot key) so it's something that can be done without looking at your watch or remembering which hot key, with vibes to let you know it's triggered, as there may be times you need help and may not want to be obvious you're calling for help.
In the menu on GCM, do you see anything like "Contacts" or "Safety"?
Looks great for me. Charged to an honest 100% earlier (rebooted 3 times to be sure) then dropped to 95 after a run and only now 94, 4 hours since then.
If this sticks then im very happy indeed.

I got 7.10 this morning. The automatic restart didn't work, the watch got stuck on the "Restarting..." screen (waited for 15min). After manual reboot, it installed the things, so far all seems ok. Will do a run later today. I was on 6.00 before w/o any battery drain issues.
